Interesting! I never knew Tony Lama boots had hollow heels. I always thought that they were high quality boots and always wanted to get a pair but never have, opting for cheaper brands.

Also interesting that the two cobblers in your area couldn't repair cowboy boots.

There used to be a cobbler that lived in a neighboring town that I took my boots to to be resoled. He had a small shop in a trailer and could fix anything you brought him and at a reasonable price. I actually went by where his shop used to be the other day and it is no longer there. I expect he has since retired, but it made me a bit sad to see him gone. It also made me wonder what I would do in the future should I need boots or any other shoes repaired. So I went on line and much to my surprise found three in the local area. The one I would probably go to first not only resoles shoes but also advertises dyeing them, fixing coats, zippers, luggage and other leather goods. So now I know where to go if my sole needs saving.

Good luck with the glue job in the mud. It might last longer than you think.
