So if you ever want to use your Maine accent to explain your muddy boots in the future say you were out in the mud flats digging clams. You would definitely need a boat to catch lobsters and "haul" lobster traps. Lobsters would not survive in the mud. However clams thrive in the mud flats and that mud can be pretty interesting. Years ago we had a local female newscaster who did a story on digging clams and after donning hip boots waded out into the mud with a professional clam digger to give it a whirl. Well. she tripped and fell and landed in the mud and got stuck and couldn't get up. It was pretty funny.
Sometimes those mud flats really stink as well.

I find it hard to believe bull riders would go on strike because the arena was muddy. However it is a dangerous sport and I suppose if you got bucked off it could be pretty risky slip sliding in mud with a huge bull barreling down on top of you. At least with bucking horses they don't chase you like bulls do. You might get kicked in the process but not gored.

Wind chill here can be deadly and make the temperature feel a lot colder than it actually is. Not fun to be out in it, that's for sure.

Glad you enjoyed your vacation and made good use of your time off.
