So possibly the most important thing for me is ruining something. I don't want to ruin my jeans but I also know that is unlikely anyhow. My jeans and sneakers tend to survive lots of muddings. So I will usually wear a new white t-shirt or brand new white sweat socks because the risk that I am going to ruin them is a big part of the thrill for me. Also I might wear a white American football jersey or a bright yellow or white hoodie. I look through the thrift stores specifically to find gear to trash in the mud. I have a nice olive green sweater that I bought for mudding. It's been in the mud twice for an all-out wallow but it survived without any problem so I continue to wear it even when I dress up as well.
