I have always been partial to cotton. It's more absorbent and heavier weight when wet. Back when I could do this, my favorites were jeans, short or long-sleeve t-shirts, tank tops, sweat pants, sweat shirts, and hoodies. High or low athletic socks with canvas tennis shoes such as Vans or Converse. I like to layer cotton waffle-weave thermal tops or long-sleeve t-shirts with a short-sleeve t-shirt on top. The only button shirts I like are flannel, usually over a t-shirt or tank top. Polo shirts are nice, too.
Having said that, because of health and other circumstances it's been years since I've been actually able to do any of this. All I've been able to do recently are a few summer swims at the public pool with shorts and a t-shirt.
