I had a similar experience years ago when north face jackets were all the rage and very very expensive. I saw a guy at the service station in a very stylish and well fitted north face. When he turned around it was all spattered and trashed out with multiple layers of house paint. I was flabbergasted and stood there incredulously as he got back in his truck and drove off presumably to another paint job. Inspired me to wear my good black leather biker jacket for around the house work. It’s got all trashed out too. I love it!
