Builders in sportswear

Hi all.
Slightly off topic, but still connected to WAM clothing.
Anyone who has been here for a while knows that I love to see sports clothing messed up, and hopefully trashed.
I was in a queue at the bakers this morning, and the guy in front of me, who must have been mid 20s I guess was wearing skinny black Nike trackies, the ones with the white stripe down the side of each leg, from the waistband to the knee, a black and white Adidas hoody, and a black North Face puffer gilet. All of this gear was liberally splattered and smeared in white paint. I must admit I got quite excited stood behind him.
I would love to have been given the chance to help him decorate, especially if I was in a similar outfit.
I often wonder why people wear something like this for messy jobs such as decorating. You would think the logical thing would be to wear overalls, or very old clothes, but certainly not fashionable and quite expensive sportswear.
Not knocking it, as I say I would love to have helped out.
Has anyone on here had any messy decorating experiences they would care to share?
Cheers.
Wetchas.
